Divine Insights: Why Donkeys Are Precious To God

Often we gossip about less capable people that he or she is a moron. God has bestowed some with intelligence, talents, good decision-making capacity etc.
But few people don't have any of the above qualities and are considered stupid. But most of the time they have a good heart.
My simple question to people who criticize these 'stupid' people is -"If you have a mentally challenged child what will you do with him?
You will take care of your child giving him the utmost care. He will grow in society with the help and support of loved ones and other members of society. The people whom you call stupid have a space of their own in this world.
There is a classic example. Saint John Vianney was considered stupid. He did not pass the written exams to become a priest. The bishop founding him to be a man of prayer ordained him.
The rest is history. He became a holy priest and served Ars parish until death making it the best parish in France. As per the guidance from the saint, the people of the parish lived a virtuous life and became an example to the whole world.
Some people find meaning and purpose in their lives by helping the physically handicapped and mentally challenged people to come and live a 'near normal life' in society. Let us give a big salute to the NGOs and other institutions taking care of these less fortunate people in our society.
Sometimes God lifts high the meek and the humble people to shame the strong and the powerful people in society. Today thousands flock every day to visit Ars in France to get blessings from Saint John Vianney.
