Don’t Let the Results Change Your Behavior
I lost my championship — but that doesn’t mean I need to change everything…
I suffered a major loss recently. It was in my fantasy football championship game.
To build towards something all year just to fall flat like that. Any given Sunday, they say…
Except, I built towards that moment for more than a year. It’s a dynasty league, meaning teams carry over to the next season.
There’s a draft, determined by the prior year’s standings. Team managers can trade picks for players and vice versa. It’s super fun and requires a lot more strategy and long-term thinking compared to the typical fantasy football league.
Losing in fantasy football always sucks. But it hurts a little more when you spent roughly two years slowly building towards this moment, fighting through injuries and poor player evaluations in hopes of reaching that pinnacle moment.
It takes an insane amount of luck, on top of some keen observations. It’s a weekly affair, and the best of us are grinding all year trying to gain an edge.
While it’s gutting to lose, it also doesn’t mean I made any mistakes. This is not a time to question my decisions. I lost because I played a better team.
