Don’t ‘Take Out’ Time, Use It!
Sometimes less is more!
I was leafing through some Medium articles on my feed when I read these golden words in one of Eve Arnold’s articles —
“Having little time is a blessing, not a curse.”
Everyone likes the idea of being productive. Ironically, you know what’s the biggest thief of productivity? It’s time.
Contrary to what you might want to believe, the more time you have, the more you procrastinate whereas, you end up being more productive when time is a constraint.
Speaking from experience, I procrastinate more when I have all the time in the world. I’ll keep waiting for the next hour to get the job done… and guess what? Like tomorrow, it never comes!
Rings a bell?
Our greed has no limit. If I give you 10 hours to work on a project that could easily be done in 5, you’d likely use the full time. But what if I had only given you 5 hours? Chances are you’d finish in 4.
The power of mind… are you using it for procrastination or productivity?
The theory of ‘taking out’ time
‘Taking’ out time comes with the connotation of a ‘verb’ or an ‘action’ that you’re supposed to follow a lengthy process to get things done.
