when in fact, love is blind
a wise man’s words, who lost his fight
a love he won, without a price
As it may soon appear to be blue
a wise man’s love would face ridicule,
he feels as if he needs it true
a point no less he wants to prove
He picks his wit, his will, his drive
to show his devotion to the one he prizes,
he believes he can out-stand his odds
to love the one, he yearns the most
He plans for what he’ll do next,
he finds a gift that will impress
the girl he likes, the lady he loves
facing the odds, he must
Then one day it finally comes,
he picks the date, isn’t he stunned
to see thy beloved, in all her wonder
he feels bewildered with sheer admiration
And in that thought, he forgets it all,
the plans he made, the moves he’ll call
for there is no doubt, only a mesmerizing spectacle
that bewitches his soul, his mind, his heart
