Dreams and Wishes

Hopes flourish in summer

Even small dreams burn bright.
Those slight sparks glisten in a place of hope.
They wait for willing hands to lift the lid and spread them wide.

I pulled down the stars to lay upon my summer bed.
They grew so strong amid the warmth my worries all but fled.

In night’s shadow
bloomed a light to burn away the dark,
By morning, as the dawn arose, in place of it a lark.

She sang my dreams up to the sun,
and circled twice the moon.
Then, I knew my fondest wishes would visit my home soon.
