Self-care comes first

Empathy isn’t bottomless

Taking care of self comes first

So that you have a space to put on another’s shoes on top of yours

Empathy isn’t without boundaries

It does not mean your space is another’s

Because your heart matters

Empathy isn’t judging

It does not mean you can judge another for lacking

Which will violate the core of what it means

Empathy isn’t easy

It means keeping yourself together

Yet being with another for being oneself

Without judging another

So be careful

Before demanding

And do all you can

To take care of yourself first

Create something

Anything

To grow a room

To truly practice empathy

And be part of a circle of empathy
