Energizing Sunlight Replacing the Computer Screen

free verse poetry

To take a needed break,
Taught posture and hours here
In front of the computer screen,
Sore and watery eyes
Neck and shoulders ache.

Down to the beach,
I sit in hot sunshine.
Waves breaking loudly upon the sand
Do not disturb a weary sleep,
Welcome arms of lucid dreams
Pull me from my chair.

Erratic images,
Surf walk and climbing rocks,
Eating food, I am typing again,
New ideas, I must grasp them tight
For when I come to again.

The noise of children playing
Brings me back round,
Ideas for writing dissipating
Like cerebral spinal fluid
Slipping through my central brain canal,
Slightly confused
Waking visions now take over.

To stand in the sunshine,
To admire the colours,
Varying degrees of Blue
Bonded with white,
Drifting in my surround,
Absorbing the flow of energy
The sun bestows upon me.

Time to write and celebrate
My moments in the sun.

Thank you for reading. J.

Thank you for your support and for giving my words a platform Dr Mehmet Yildiz and all the Illumination team!
