Marli had come down with a disease of the larynx and had developed bronchial pneumonia. She was hospitalized for an entire week. She did not return to work the remaining summer and did not return to school to graduate from high school. Fear that she may have lost her singer’s voice, had quieted her. She wrote many songs about a boy she loved dearly.
