A poem in response to Tej’s prompt “Storm”

Reins of mind controlled by plans
thousands wrapped to be futile.
World’s upside down in such a short span.
We got trapped in our own isle.

Wrath was rained by a storm,
virus paved its own path
leaving us to live a life in a new form.
Sucking lives, skewing routines — aftermath.

Many bravely fought
So many we lost.
Lifetime lessons were taught
We are still paying heavy cost.

Rainbow peeking from curtains of cloud
hope perking up igniting warmth in the darkness.
Look around remove the shroud
You still are equestrian, claim back your harness.

Life as we live it
Not as we plan it.
