Escaping the Bustle of Life Through Riding a Horse
The accelerated life events that put me in a chase with my life and barely let me catch my breath, faded my passions and made all my focus on doing the work rather than enjoying it. Made me realize that I will never accomplish a peaceful, cozy life submerged with love, as I have always wished. Balance is the key, and from there, the journey starts.
I went on a calm diving journey inside myself to rediscover the hobbies I neglected a long time ago. Horseback riding was one of them. When I was a teenager, I started riding horses. With each ride, I could feel the bond getting thicker and love getting deeper with the horse. Horses are creatures that have always mesmerized me with their nature of loyalty, tenderness, and containment. They can feel your madness and happiness by just being around them, and this lovely connection seems to be missing.
“Let’s go for a ride again!” Despite the changes in time, place, horse, age, and everything, in November 2021, I booked a ride and rode a gorgeous Arabian horse named Sarah. Her shiny black eyes reflected the trees and sky, her long slender neck with toned, and she had a healthy body. As I came closer her neck moved gently over my shoulder, and I thought, ‘Oh, I missed this!’
I rode her into a breathtaking place in Arizona, where a body of water flowed next to us, the wind dropped a rain of yellow leaves, the sky hosted whitish clouds and birds, and the earth was full of soft sands.
This ride refreshed my soul and drew a wide smile on my face throughout the whole hour. It was just one hour in time but lasted longer in my life.
As I started to head back to the ranch, I thought it was time to embrace my hobbies and maybe turn them into talents in the future. Who knows! Well, I am still on the journey and will always be on the journey of discovering myself, in which to be connected to this precious Earth.
