When I was just but one and three
Death said come lie down with me
A river flowed through, dark and deep
And if I stayed, my soul would keep

It was cool and peaceful there
More so than I can even share
Although I felt myself at home
It was still time for me to roam

Who are you, and why so aware?
It’s almost more than I alone can bear.
For most I meet I wrap it up
Zipped in tight — don’t spill that cup

On a blue moon I’d let it out
But no one really knew that route.
Now it’s here to say and stay,
Two worlds can be a price to pay

Some will say it’s not enough
Others try to call my bluff
But if you listen carefully
Your future in my eyes you’ll see

Trust that all that comes to light
Is not without an inner fight.
Hear it not for certainty
