A few months back, I was scrolling some shorts on YouTube when a beautiful video came before me. I want to share that with you all. It has a profound message that we all need to know.

The video, featuring Sadhguru in a conversation with Logan Paul and his friends, took an unexpected turn when the topic of belief was brought up.

Sadhguru’s response is so profound that you will be awed by the truth it reveals. First, I want to ask you: “Do you believe in yourself?”. Before reading ahead, try to answer this question.

“If you believe you can, you might. If you know you can, you will.”
― Steve Maraboli

Now, Sadhguru explains the concept of belief profoundly and beautifully, which is a response I will do my best to imitate here.

Do you believe you have a hand, or do you know you do? Think carefully before answering that one. You will answer; I know I have a hand. Then what is believing?

We can only believe in the things we don’t know about. You cannot say you know something and believe in it. If you know something exists, why do you believe it? It is already there.

Still with me? When you believe in something, you are in an unknown zone. You cannot say, I believe I can do it. You know you can do it. It’s crucial to understand this concept thoroughly.

“Your beliefs affect your choices. Your choices shape your actions. Your actions determine your results. The future you create depends upon the choices you make and the actions you take today.”
― Roy T. Bennett

Believing and knowing are two different things. When you know something, you cannot believe it because you know about it. Is it confusing? Read this article one more time.

Whenever you believe in something, remember this article and ask yourself: Do I believe or know? It is essential to understand the difference.

When you grasp this concept, many beliefs will transform into knowledge. If you’re still reading, ask yourself this question often. This understanding will empower you to discern between faith and knowledge.

It will clear many of your beliefs. You believe you can buy a car, or you know you can. You think you’re a nice person, or you know it.

“You cannot be truly humble, unless you truly believe that life can and will go on without you.”
― Mokokoma Mokhonoana

Eliminate all confusion from your mind. Start questioning. This active engagement will bring a lot of clarity into your life. Many things you believe are things you know about them. Keep questioning, keep learning.

In conclusion, believe in something when you don’t know anything about it. If you know about it, then there is no way you believe in it. You will get to the point with a bit of practice and thinking.

And, when you truly understand this concept, you will feel liberated from many things. The freedom that comes with this understanding is genuinely profound.
