I watched the movie Oppenheimer today, first day, first show in Nepal. I have been awaiting the release of this film ever since it was announced on September, 2021. Finally, today was the day I got the opportunity to delve into this much-awaited sociopolitical biopic and before anything else, I have to present a review of the film from both cinematic, and sociopolitical standpoint — not scientific though, because the film itself doesn’t show much of physics and mathematics.

The movie

Oppenheimer is a gripping and complex biopic that explores the moral dilemmas and personal struggles of Robert Oppenheimer, the brilliant physicist who led the development of the atomic bomb during World War II. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film features a stellar performance by Cillian Murphy as Oppenheimer, who portrays him as a conflicted and haunted man, torn between his scientific curiosity, his loyalty to his country, and his conscience. The movie also features several other brilliant actors like Robert Downey Junior as Lewis Strauss, Emily Blunt as Kitty Oppenheimer, and Matt Damon as Gen. Leslie Groves.
