Final Sleep

My feeling
is now stronger
Always deeper.

Pain would
not lie down
Like they said
it would.

But what
do they know
of another

Unmet soul
that won’t
recover.

Tortured under
skin and bone
for good,

Now praying for
the final sleep
in wood.
