Some of my earliest and most enduring memories of my father are the fights he’d get into when we’d go shopping. It didn’t happen all the time. It didn’t even happen most of the time. But it happened enough that to this day, I still associate our weekly Saturday shopping trips with a good old-fashioned throw-down.
