I’ve lived in Boston pretty much my entire life. There are a few things people say when you’re from here.

If they like history, they’ll talk about the Boston Tea Party and Paul Revere. If they’re a sports fan, they mention Fenway Park and the Patriots. You’ll also sometimes get questions about Harvard University. And if they’ve ever visited before, they’ll probably ask why there are so many Dunkin’ Donuts around the city.

One of my favorite writers, Eric Pierce, wrote a fantastic piece about the famous songs about his home state Michigan. And then, another one of my favorite writers, Paul Combs, wrote on the best songs about Texas.

So, here I am doing my own version.

After listening to a lot of music, I decided to choose a selection of my five favorite songs that remind me of Boston. Some of them reference Boston, others remind me of being in the city, and one is just by the band Boston.
