FOCUS is a Key Ingredient for Success…ELIMINATE All Distractions!

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
Aristotle – Metaphysics

The mind is the bedrock of all thoughts, habits, and actions. It determines all choices, decisions, and conditions that pave the path you take in life. However, it is fragile to the conditions of the environments and a victim of information it encounters daily.

Growing up, I had no idea how to protect my mind. I allowed myself to be used by people and spent a lot of time blaming myself for being so naive and innocent. In hoping to protect me, I became a different person, and believe me, it was no fun. I became a shadow of myself, looking for validation from others to feel loved and valued. In time, I looked backed and realized that contrary to what I believed, I stepped behind. I appreciate my experiences, for they made me who I am and thought me to look out for myself and protect my mind. For you have the ability to control what you let into your mind. All you need to do is to maintain a focus on your goals and take steps towards achieving them. Remember, you become your thoughts!

To cultivate a focused mind, here are a few simple tips:

1. Prioritize your goals and maintain focus — Seek out resources and people that have similar interests

2. Educate your mind daily with positive thoughts, read books, and expand your perception of life — This improves your perspective of the world around you

3. Learn new skills — Skills have to be related to your goals or help in advancing your goals

4. Enjoy your company and engage in personal reflections — know yourself more, build resilience, and cultivate your inner voice

Only then will you be the change you crave for and be firm in working towards your dreams and bring it to fulfillment. A mind without focus keeps wondering and never realized its full potential.

Guide your mind jealously for within it lies all the treasures in life.

“Focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses.
Focus on your character, not your reputation.
Focus on your blessings, not your misfortunes.”
Roy T. Bennett
