There are a few very important characteristics in a person who pursues two goals at a time.

Some might think they are crazy or chasing their tail. But, when it comes to building muscle and losing body fat — there are a few things to keep in mind.

Firstly, you must be completely disciplined so that reaching the goal you want is the mountain top. You need to see the pitfalls ahead.

They are part of the journey — but have no leverage to stand in your way. It can be very challenging at times, but hard work, consistency and perseverance are part and parcel.

When I pursued this goal to prepare myself for body-building shows, I was lucky to work a very low-key freelance job four days a week, and I could start and finish when I wanted- that was fantastic.

Mum always helped me look after my daughter so I could take the time to train and meal prep. My focus was to fit everything into a compact lifestyle, and I tried my best.
