POETRY
From Bemused to Belle Muse
Conjoined to a mercurial medium
Parted lips, arched back, slumped in solitary prayer,
Fractious temple, chipped capstones, nearly bereaved of care
Spinning opposite, two loci, unconscious
yet fair,
Unmoved, unseen, eliciting none but pompous stare
Jolted, all senses, slid fully prostrate,
Reaching out, glittering magic, lest it dissipate
Into smoke, bitter course, resounding cackle
of fate,
Why, bewitching fairy, so cruel your hate?
Fractured, swooning, dazed spell come about,
Behold, unannounced, darts an illuminating thought
Bouncing, in sync, from tick-tock
to sniff-snort,
Whispers, of light, electric insight thus brought
Silvery, seductive, holding onto her tongue,
Bosom, a cage, spirit enraged by collapsing lung
Desperate release, stultifying corpse, shedding skin
oft-wrung,
Undercover dream, liberating pursuit, heels being flung
Surveying fertile landscapes, from dusk till dawn,
Light as the breeze, drifting with ease over placid lawns
Ephemeral apparition, soon ceasing
to be,
Contained by time and space, so unreservedly free
Disintegrating and vacuous, ether formless or bare,
Mired in burning desire, empty vessel to spare
For beauty and purpose, renewed pledge
to stay on hold,
Limited in choice, meaning of weight untold
Returning to form, waking in spring bloom,
Fragments of ideas, weaved drearily full moon
Dalliance of symbiosis, reanimated scroll
now unfolds,
Body and spirit, minstrel & muse blend souls.
