Gen Z Makes Waves with a New Investing Obsession
New research shows Gen Z are immersing themselves in the world of investing
A survey delving into the investment habits of Generation Z (Gen Z), millennials, and Generation X (Gen X) collected insights from more than 2,800 participants across four nations: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and China. The study meticulously analyzed the divergent investment behaviors between those who held investment accounts and those who didn’t.
According to the findings, Gen Z is increasingly turning to investments, propelled by an array of motivators. These include the easy availability of financial information on social media, the burgeoning popularity of investment-focused apps, and the dramatic rise of cryptocurrencies.
In terms of the influence of ‘FOMO’ (Fear Of Missing Out) on their decision to invest, 41% of Gen Z investors in the U.S. and Canada, 43% in the UK, and a whopping 60% in China acknowledged this factor. The statistics reveal that a higher proportion of Gen Z members are investing rather than abstaining.
