6 easy steps even for people without a programming background
Mobile apps can turn individuals into an overnight millionaire if they hit it right. Remember Angry Birds? Even if you can’t be as successful as Angry Bird, you can still earn some passive income every month for the next 5–10 years via a mobile app. The best part of it all, once you publish the app, you will be generating passive income for the next few years until people not using mobile app technology anymore.
This is a direct guide, no-nonsense how-to tutorial for people who have no idea how to earn passive income via mobile apps. I will teach you how to do this step by step. All these steps outline the workflow you need to know on how to get advertisement money into your bank account.
The audience target for this article is suitable for people who have no programming background at all. I repeat, it is suitable for people with no programming background at all. Of course, having programming knowledge will give you a platform to achieve this faster. After reading this article, you will have a pretty good idea of how to generate such income via mobile apps.
If you have been using mobile apps, which most of us should have, there are 3 ways of generating income.
- Through in-app advertisement. Free download
- Through in-app purchase. Free download
- Through app purchase itself. Paid download.
Today, I will start with the easiest way to set things up and get your first dollar. In-app advertisement.
Step 1:- Get your Google Developer Account
You know how to download apps, but how about publishing your app? This is your google developer account where you will use it to publish apps into Google PlayStore.
You will need to invest USD $25 for a one-time sign up for this. After that, it’s all cost-free. All it takes is your time to build apps and publish. I don’t get a commission from Google for this, so don’t say I am a scammer. But this is a must 1-time entry fee to publish your app, and that’s it.
Below is the link to get a google developer account. Do the necessary registration, pay USD $25 and you are good to go. Please note, you will need to have a Gmail account to sign-in in the first place.
Step 2:- Download Android Studio
This studio/system is where you will build your mobile application. The download is free and provided by Google. No need to worry about a virus. Again you will need to sign-in with your google email. You can do this step without paying for the USD25 in Step 1 first. Below is the link to download Android Studio.

You can try out their sample codes in the link above for a quick start on how to build your first mobile app. Don’t worry about not having programming language knowledge at all. It’s so easy, step-by-step guide from the quick start tutorial provided by Google.
Before you know it, you have already built your first mobile app by just following the tutorial provided.

Follow my page, and I will also demonstrate how to build a simple mobile app in near future. Of course, you will need to have a good app to attract people to download, not some junk app that is filled with advertisements.
Step 3:- Get advertisements
This is where you get your income to your app. Advertisements. It’s so easy to plug this into your app, that it is like plug and play. For people who don’t know how to implement this, all you need is just 1-2 hours of reading time on AdMob tutorial.
Again AdMob is provided by Google and registration is free of charge. Sign-in is your same Gmail account. In summary, once you get your account, all you need to do is following.
- Register your app to AdMob.
- AdMob will return a bunch of code for you to copy and paste into your app.
- Once you put it into your app, voila, the advertisement will appear in your app.
- ** Warning:- Don’t ever click your own advertisement to cheat side income, Google will know this and ban your account permanently.
Step 4:- Get AdSense to receive your payment
Income generated in AdMob will be paid via AdSense. In AdSense you will need to fill in your bank account information and so on. Once you registered in AdMob, you will be directed to AdSense to fill in your payment and bank account information.
All this has to be real information, so don’t give fake information when you registering in Step 1.
Step 5:- Build your app
So, you have all the accounts registration done. Now it’s time to build your app. This is the step that will take most of your time, but no money is needed unless you hire someone to do the app.
Have an idea of what app you want. Generally, any app that helps solve people's problems will attract people to download. For example, public holiday calendar app, alarm clock app, education app, and so on. You don’t need to build a mega app such as WhatsApp or Twitter.
If you think you can’t develop an app because of no programming background knowledge, think again. I learn all the mobile app programming by myself. Your best teacher is Google itself. Plenty of samples to cut and paste. The skill set you need to know is “how to Google the code/answers”.
Step 6:- Publish your app
After you have built your app, you can publish your app via Google Developer Account, which you created in Step 1. Below is the screenshot of one of my apps.
Here you can see the reports and performance of your app. It’s all free. All you have to pay is USD 25 at step 1, and you can publish an unlimited number of apps into Google Play.
Easy as ABC, right? As you can see, all is provided by Google from building, hosting, publishing, advertising, and payment transfer to your bank account. All you need to invest is USD $25 upfront and time in building the mobile apps.
