Going Into Debt
Is the degree worth it? Your opinion might differ from mine.
I recently read a piece on how people involved in the mental health field are not always the most qualified. People in higher education are not always those that should have a persuasive voice. Sometimes those that are selected for positions are chosen for reasons that appear “unjust”. The author delves into how racism prevents communities from accessing education — the flip side of that argument would be that some organizations prioritizing affirmative action are prejudiced in their own way.
If you like reading, living in a library, and contributing to a community then I would say go for that degree in whatever field at whatever school. Paying it off is going to be easier for some than others. For me, it will be difficult. I have worked my ass off for as long as I can remember but none of that will be enough.
Loans will be my life but I am just so crazy about what I want to do that I am willing to let it be my life.
Ambition and hard work carried me for a while. Growing became more about self-love as time went by.
Your path is simply different from mine.
