At first,
it’s unno ticeable.

A few fall out in the shower,
no big deal.

You notice fewer on the hairline but
you’re probably just overthinking.

Then even more skid off in the shower.
During the day they start to glide off your scalp.

One by one they jump off the sinking ship,
follicles shed your hairline like cicadas.

Every day you slowly lose the battle.
You are powerless.

And eventually,
