Have you ever gotten a Missed Call?
Wow, What happened? My curious mind questioned me! And I didn’t think much about it and I continued.
“Gimme a Missed call. Gimme a Missed call!”
“Wow, what’s the deal? Why Missed call? Why not a Call instead?” I wanted to know. Yet, I ignored it.
“He will come down to his terms and call me, instead”, I assured myself. But guess what? He didn’t. Now my phone is flooded with more voice messages.
But one question.
“Why a missed call and why not a call?” Does he want to know I am free to talk? Or what is it? I got really curious.
“Gimme a Missed call. Gimme a Missed call, right now I say!”
“Wow, this is not going to end.”- I sighed and dialed his number. As asked, I ended the call in a flash, hearing the first ring. (That’s how we do it, right?)
“It’s done. Let’s see what this is all about!” As expected my phone started ringing.
Okay!!
“Hello,” I said curiously to know what is this all about!
“Oh, this is it! I wasn’t aware of it. I expected it to be something else.”
“What?!!” I was puzzled.
“I thought it would be like a WhatsApp call or Google’s Duo call or Zoom call.”
“What??!!” Me again.
“I don’t know what Missed call is, I heard it today and wanted to know. So I asked you to call me through Missed call, Aunt.”
Suddenly, I couldn’t stop myself bursting into laughter! So this is it! That’s why he irritated me so many times.🙂🙂
My nephew!!
A six-year-old kid. Of course, he didn’t know it. But it didn’t come to me earlier. I couldn’t stop my laughter! Ya, we all know about missed calls and their purpose and benefits.
But today’s kids don’t even know what it is. How drastically is the World around is changing? Right? Funny, but strange! Do you agree with me?
“So this is it!” My nephew said, disturbing my thoughts and taking care of the world burdens on my shoulders.🙂
“What is it?”
“Missed call. It’ s ‘just call and immediately end the call.”
“Yes.” I said. Smile is still hanging on my lips.
“But why do you do a Missed call?”
My smile stopped. How to explain it to him? Why do we do Missed calls? But, I quickly managed to answer.
“To see my name on your phone screen!”:))
→ That’s an absurd answer!🙂 I know, but the truth is..?? Would you please help me to list down them for him??
This one’s from me — I mostly used to Missed calls to confirm, that I got down the bus. Come and pick me up, sis!
