Have you seen the girl next door?
You know, the one that has it all?
Looks, smarts, and a good work ethic
she should be the envy of the town
but instead, she is beloved.
Nevertheless, whispers grow
and questions are asked.
Is she one of those Stepford wives
who were truly built to last?
Is it possible for someone to have it all
or is it an elaborate illusion
waiting to be exposed?
I don’t know where the answers lie
but there is something to learn from the girl next door
even if she is a Stepford wife.
Focus on your path and tread lightly
Do not look for answers in others
They will lead you astray blindly.
Maybe we do not envy that she has it all
but rather her happiness with the
things she did not choose.
Maybe if we could embrace our good and bad sides the same way
we would find that we too are blessed.
