A healthy brain and body need healthy food.

Food is one part to support the lifelong elasticity and performance of the body and brain, and spices have a special status.

Spices give the taste of your daily life.

Spices give your health.

As a data scientist and technology expert, I need to care about daily physical and mental health. Otherwise, I cannot create proper and valuable solutions.

Food was, for me, always more than just eating. I focus on how food can support my health without being restrictive in the pleasure of eating.

I have more than 100 different spices and herbs at home. It is essential to care about your own health, and spices can multiply the benefits.

Pepper is called the king of spices. It is not only tasty but has been used for ages as medicine.

I use more than 20 types of pepper and pepper-like spices to enrich my meals.

So, let’s look at

  • what pepper and its history is,
  • what is its contribution to your health,
  • what varieties of black pepper exist,
  • and to support your spicy health journey, I give four recipes of delicious dishes with black pepper varieties

Enjoy your food and health!

What are black pepper and its history?

Piper, the pepper plant, belongs to the family of the so-called Piperaceae. There are over 1500 species of the family of pepper plants globally. Pepper grows mainly in the understory of tropical forests as vines, shrubs, or small trees. The fruit is the peppercorn. It has the size of a small pea.

Today’s most used pepper specie is black pepper, piper nigrum, followed by the long pepper, piper longum. Pepper is found in food already around 9000–7500 BC.
