For some, this may come as a shock because nowadays society is seemingly always advocating for equality between the sexes. So why is it that the same energy isn’t maintained when it comes to picking up the bill on the first date?

The date is a great opportunity to learn more about a person and what type of lover they will be. This information can be gathered through conversations had during the date but equally as important are one’s actions during the date. When a man picks up the bill on the first date this reveals some interesting qualities the man may possess namely that they take their role as a provider seriously, this is of particular importance for women who subscribe to the traditional gender roles in relationships.
