In downtown Athens, Georgia, just two blocks from the famous entrance arches to the state university, a 60-year-old, high-rise Holiday Inn is being demolished. It’s impossible to drive past it and not think of Ukraine and all the apartment houses and public buildings we see in ruins on TV news programs every night.
