Home Wrecking
A Poem about the Demolition of Property

Buzzing and Knocking — it feels like forever
this tormenting sound causes me anger
fewer know what it feels like right now
the neighbors' house is being wrecked
They left that house a while ago
a deserted home perhaps — forevermore
a crew just came to wreck it anew
the house has stood many thunderstorms
But this one seems a different breed
I believe it is a cruel feat — broken
down the house once filled
with people who smiled within
It does make you wonder, what
might have been — if it stood a decade
more therein, but that time might never
come — the house wrecking has begun
