A smaller version of the badge you see above is now available for Medium writers. You can find the badge at the end of this story and use it to tell your readers that you, not ChatGPT, wrote your story.

You. Not ChatGPT. Not Jasper AI. Not Ryter, Writesonic, Quillbot, Copy AI, Hypotenuse, Copysmith, Frase, Growthar, or any other artificial intelligence.

You came up with the idea for your story. You decided it was a good idea. You wrote it in your own words in the hopes that your readers would appreciate your words. You wrote it to impart some knowledge or provide some benefit to your readers — to contribute to their well-being.

You did all this — you can do all this — because you are human and not some AI text generator, otherwise known as a robot.

Robot writers do not know about readers because a robot can only copy knowledge. Robot writers do not care about readers; they can only spew out words. Only human writers, can truly “know” and “care.” It might even be said that only human writers can “write.”

You can add the smaller version of the “No AI” badge to your stories to tell your readers that you, a human writer, have written a uniquely human story. Just copy the badge below along with the caption.

Note that you may, after copying, have to move the caption from plain text back to its position as a caption — you’ll see what I mean when you do this.

(Katharine would appreciate it if you’d let her know in a comment that you’re using the badge.)
