ILLUMINATION

How do you handle masks and touching a year into the pandemic? Here’s my approach:

When people are coming into my space (my home, my car, and close physical proximity), I tell them in advance what my policies are for mask-wearing, hugging, touching, and contact with surfaces. If they don’t want to comply, fine. I either ask them to leave or, if it’s a public place, I move away.

When I’m going into their space, I ask ahead of time. What do you want your guests to do regarding masks and social distancing? If I’m comfortable with their preferences, I go. If I’m not, I politely decline the invitation and/or move away.
