Gigs I have on fiverr

For the last month I have been trying to land my very first client on fiverr, which is a freelance website where sellers can post their services for buyers, however it has proven pretty unsuccessful. To tell the truth it is very discouraging to me when I read about people making more on the platform while am still struggling to get my very first client. Therefore, I have taken it as a personal responsibility to look for strategies to improve my visibility on the page.

In my endeavor I have found several strategies that you can also applying to increase your chances of landing a client. These are strategies I myself have put into place and they have tremendously increased my impressions on the platform and here they are:

  1. Start with a problem

A gig or service posting is suppose to solve a problem. Posting a service blindly can lead you to having no clients at all for a very long time. So the first question you should as yourself is if your gig is solving a problem that people are experiencing. At this point you want to solve a problem within your expertise and not just a problem.

Then where do you find a problem? Problems are everywhere. However to identify a problem that many people want solved ant they are willing to pay for is where it gets challenging. To identify a problem the easiest way is to go to your favorite social media platform and search for your area of expertise. This will result to thousands of posts. Now you want to go to the comment section and look at the kind of questions or bad experiences the audience is expressing. With that information you can have a clear path of what services to offer.

In this example we will use the fact that people don’t get clients on fiverr for a very long time. This is a problem many experience and how can we solve it? Offering to optimize their profiles and gigs for more impressions.

2. Research for the services on fiverr

Now that you have a clear path of what services the audience is in need of now go to fiverr and research on the service. At this point you want to identify how many such services are offered and at what prices and how your competitors are pricing for the service.

It is also in your best interest to note the number of new sellers in the market since those are your biggest competitors.

Now in our previous example we have identified the problem and now we have a service in mind. In our research we see that 2909 services are offered and around 2254 new sellers and their prices range from 10 dollars to 100 dollars.

3. Creating the gig

Now with all the gathered information it is time to create a gig or a service. This is the most critical part. At this point what we need to do is learn from what works and improve on it. These is by visiting the highest rated gig and looking at how it is set up and what services the competitor offers.

With all that in mind it is time to use the skyscraper concept, which is just taking what works and improving it. These can be in many ways such as offering an after-sale service the competitor is not or follow-up services that span a certain period of time after the service is offered.

In these phase you want to make sure that your gig photos are very definitive on the services your offer.

4. Advertising your gig

Remember the guy who suffered from the problem you are tring to solve? Now it is time to DM him and tell him that you have a solution for him and you are open to be contacted for further discussions. If the you identified many people with the similar problem the higher your chance of getting a client out of them. So make sure you identify as many potential clients as possible.

Following these steps will increase your chances of getting your client as soon as possible, however it is not a guarantee that you will get clients as soon as you set up your gig. You may require to advertise the gig on your social media platforms to also attract customers from there.
