How I became a Life Coach
It’s funny how life pans out
Life never entirely goes the way you plan. In my case, there wasn’t much of a plan, more of a dingy torn up treasure map where there was no island, and no ‘X’ identifying where I should be looking. It was safe to say I didn’t even know what I was searching for and what this ‘treasure chest’ consisted of.
I explored the world and spent years looking for answers within it. What was my purpose? What could I sink my teeth into that would leave me feeling as if I had achieved something significant?
This pattern continued for a decade or so- Work in a job I detested, save up all the money I made and then leave for the next adventure in a faraway continent. Before interviewed for each job, I could see myself handing in my resignation, and making off into the sunset.
Until one day I realised how alone I felt. From years of seeing incredible sights, the idea of travel lost its sparkle. There I found myself, strolling along pristine beaches feeling trapped in an empty paradise.
A two and a half month stint working in an Amazon warehouse soon had me dreaming of leaving again. I met a guy who was a sailor in the British Royal Navy, and he too couldn’t stand the job. One day he was so annoyed, he threw a pre-made box down on the counter and said: “This is the…
