How many years do you spend working throughout the course of your life? It is probably more than you think.
After all, if you spend most of your waking hours from 9–5, Monday through to Friday, it might be worthwhile considering just how much of your life is dedicated to working.
How much of your life is spent at work?
How we spend our days is of course, how we spend our lives.
The average person will spend 90,000 hours at work over a lifetime according to Andrew Naber, (industrial-organizational psychologist and data scientist). That is roughly 10.2 years.
According to one analysis from HuffPost Australia, an average person spends 13 years and 2 months at work.
In contrast, people only spend 368 days socializing with friends, on average, over the course of a lifetime.
Work
If we spend that amount of time of our life at work it would only make sense to:
- Do meaningful work.
- Find work that you enjoy doing.
- Find fulfilment at work.
