How The Powerful Is Fueling The Collective Naiveté Of Society

A court has always formed itself throughout history, around the person in power — king, queen, emperor, president, prime minister, leader. The aristocrats.

The masters. The people with the power.

The masters used the court to rule the peasants.

The servants. The people with the illusion of power. That is us. Society.

But there was also a particular type of servant of the masters.

The courtiers. They roamed the corridors of the court to execute their power plays. They were the thinkers. The people with the real power. They had access to both the aristocrats and the peasants.

The courtiers studied a particular type of thinking. Machiavellian thinking. Psychologists are trained to recognize people with this kind of mindset. It is dangerous. We are warned to stay away from that kind of thinking. It can use the worst of the human mind and take you down an abyss.

But society as a whole has a problem. The power plays of the old aristocratic court are still in play as I’m writing this. The courtiers use…
