How This 3-Minute Japanese Exercise Got Me in Shape
I’ve always been interested in how different countries manage their health and have different fitness routines than what I’m used to seeing in the U.S. When I moved to France, I found myself naturally adopting a lot of the health habits my French friends practiced.
Later when I met my husband, who is Japanese, he also shared with me some of his own practices from Japan. The one that impacted me most was a 3-minute Japanese exercise called Radio Taiso (ラジオ体操). I also have another in-depth article about Radio Taiso and how it can benefit you. In this article, I will share how it’s personally impacted my health and fitness.
You only need 3 minutes!
Radio Taiso is a 3-minute exercise that Japanese people from all different walks of life practice. Students practice it before starting school, employees before starting the workday, or even families can practice it together in their homes. My husband and I took up this practice together shortly after he shared it with me. Some days I try to find a way out of exercising. Snuggling up on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn and watching movies is much more enjoyable.
