How to Add Your Story to Our Publication
Stop pesky ‘100 people have sent a draft to ILLUMINATION’ notifications. Please. Pretty pretty, please.
Until Medium comes up with a simpler way of doing this, here’s how you can help stop these pesky notifications clogging up other people’s notifications channels (you know, the magic list that appears under the bell when you click it).
I love to see who has messaged me, clapped for a post, responded to a post, mentioned me. I also love to be able to find those notifications easily and with speed. Don’t you?
Some editors couldn’t stand the heat and asked to be removed.
Around forty of us are still standing. I am staggering under the volume and I can’t find a darn thing!
But what I do find (and read) are all those private notes between the authors and whoever they write to. Some of the private notes are prime examples of superb responses — which will extend our reach on Google and is one of the things we should try to do as much as possible. Don’t be shy. Go all in. (If you want to, there’s no arm twisting here.)
So if you want me (and possibly other editors) to stop snooping, please follow these simple instructions. 😘

Three steps to a chilled out notifications channel and happy editors.
- Publish your post on your own personal account. Then click on the gear and select Edit story. You are not going to edit it (unless you want to or the Save and publish button stays greyed out — in which case press the space bar or something and it will).
2. Click on the three dots. Click on Add to publication.
3. Select ILLUMINATION. Click Add story. I didn’t have a suitable draft for ILLUMINATION. But if you’ve got something for Frugal Friday please, be my guest.
Et voila!
