When the world feels like it’s accelerating faster than you can keep up, it can be tough to know how to stay grounded in these crazy times. The good news is that you’re not alone. It’s normal to feel nervous and anxious, especially when the world feels like it’s conspiring against you.

When your anxious mind starts to take over, it can be hard to shut it out. The more it sneers and taunts your worries, the more your anxious mind continues to feed off of them. This is why it’s so important to be able to calm yourself down and stay calm as well.

Here are some of the best ways to stay calm in a crazy world, or perhaps your own inner craziness is getting a little too much to handle.

Start with a breath

The most important step to calming your anxious mind is taking a breath. This might seem obvious, but it’s one of the easiest ways to keep your anxious mind in check.

Every time you start to get wound up, you need to breathe. Breathing out your anxious thoughts and breathing in a more relaxed state of mind. Try doing this whenever you notice you’re starting to get anxious.
