Mechanical skills take time to learn and perfect, to the point we will never be able to compete with professionals. Although with enough game sense, you will be climbing the ladder faster than ever before. Let's start out by defining game sense, game sense is situational awareness of a player and how a player is able to optimize their decision-making according to a situation.

A way one can improve at this is by saying the information that you see such as what you're doing, what your opponent is doing, and what environment are they in, out loud as you will become more familiar with the intel collected and your brain will study the outcomes, and eventually, naturally, you will see better decision making.

This will also teach you what info is useful and what is not. You will start to know what intel to base your decisions on, netting to a more positive result more often.

However, this isn’t the only way to improve game sense. Analyzing your mistakes is another way to improve decision-making as you can look for better decisions. In addition, you could watch professionals and analyze their decisions and compare them to yours.
