Insights from Dr. Gabor Mate in an interview with Diary of a CEO
Are you struggling to write? Do you debate why you should bother writing? Are you worried that no one will value your work? I too have had those same fears and you know who else has? Dr. Gabor Mate. Dr. Gabor Mate recently wrote another book titled “ The Myth of Normal”. I haven’t read it yet but I intend to since I happen to be a huge fan of Dr. Mate and his work. He has authored several books namely “In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts”, “Scattered Minds”, and most recently “The Myth of Normal”. In 2020, he released a documentary called “The Wisdom of Trauma” which blew my mind as it unveiled so many insights about the impact of trauma on health and the probability of one’s life’s trajectory.
Overall, Dr. Mate has done so much work to help countless people. I also like his science-backed take on why not every “illness” is a pathology. His therapeutic approach called ‘Compassionate Inquiry’ takes into account adverse life experiences (including the lack of certain life experiences) for the manifestation of disease and illness in healing people.
