MIND OVER MATTER
How To Overcome Procrastination That Happens From ADHD
When focusing is the hardest thing to do
When I found out I had ADHD over a year and a half ago, suddenly so many things just made sense to me.
I finally understood why I was a certain way compared to others, and why I did certain things others didn’t do.
Another thing I understood as well was why I was a serial procrastinator.
For the longest time, I could never understand why I struggled to do certain things when others around me didn’t.
I put things off until the very last minute before stressing out to finish it (which I usually do and most of the time, with pretty good results).
But those around me would be able to start early, take their time, and cruise their way through.
Not me.
I was the total opposite and it was all thanks to my ADHD.
However, upon learning that my ADHD brings upon my procrastination habits, I’ve learned to understand it better and thus, found ways to overcome it as much as I possibly can.
While I haven’t been able to eradicate it completely (I doubt I’ll ever be able to), I have gotten much better at managing it.
