If you hear a voice within you say ‘You cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced. — Van Gogh

What if you mess up?

Will you make a fool of yourself?

What will people say?

Are you just not smart enough, talented enough, capable enough, or experienced enough?

What is self-doubt?

Self-doubt is a natural part of being human.

It doesn’t take much to understand that having too little self-doubt might be difficult.

Self-doubt is a lack of confidence in oneself and one’s skills.

It’s an attitude that prevents you from believing in yourself and from achieving success.

Although modesty is a positive quality, it is no longer helpful if it comes at one’s own expense.

Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt.— William Shakespeare

Here’s another definition.

Self-doubt is a pattern of thoughts that question your current abilities and your ability to develop new ones.
