How to Override Bad Habits and Replace Them With Habits That Achieve Good Results
Your bad habits are almost guaranteed to cause you to fail repeatedly, but you have a wonderful ability to create good habits If bad habits make you want to tear your hair out by the roots, you’re not alone.
This is one area where I can claim, without boasting, to be an expert. I sometimes find myself doing something on autopilot that so annoys me that my anger motivates me to look for some way to escape to the sunny uplands of behaving like the person I’d like to be.
My story starts with Distraction. You wouldn’t believe how easy I find it to follow red herrings. (Actually I’ve never seen a red herring, have you? And I don’t know why they gained such a fulsome reputation for describing diversions. Anyway, I just found out they’re smoked herrings turned red by the smoke.) What’s that got to do with this story? It’s an example of how easy I find it to get distracted.
As I want to tell you about good grooves, I’d better start again.
