Most books require only 8 days to finish.
Say the average book has 300 pages with approximately 300 words per page. That’s 90,000 words total.
That’s Nothing If You Know How Fast You Read
The average reader can read up to 238 words per minute (WPM), meaning it takes 380 minutes to finish a book. Convert them to hours and we get 6.3 hours.
If you’re reading a non-fiction book, bump that to 8 hours for highlights, notes, and re-reads.
That’s a very short period.
But most people don’t finish a book in just 8 days.
They procrastinate and read without considering the time it takes. It’s like a neverending task.
That’s wasting time. Time is valuable, and reading is important; nothing valuable and important should be done without considering time.
