How to Start Anything New: The Power of Imperfection, Faith, and Hope
When we often want to start something new, we don’t know how things are done.
We often seek guidance from various sources, such as articles, books, and videos, to learn how to achieve our goals.
However, we may also create a false impression that the process is too complex, because we focus on the final outcome and ignore the drafts and steps that led to it.
In many cases, we exaggerate and give things more value than they should take to the extent that we get overwhelmed and forget all about what we want to be doing.
Some things are complicated and need a lot of thinking and tweaking, but nothing you start will be perfect from the moment you begin it.
You must start practicing with what you know and have; don’t wait to be perfect or have completed work; everything needs work.
It always starts incomplete and imperfect.
Things start small, and it grows over time and with lots of iteration.
You must start doing the practice.
Finding the right model to grow could take time; you must keep practicing and accept that you will do bad work at the beginning, but once you figure out the small components and keep investing in those, it grows with willpower and determination.
Achieving greatness requires starting with being good, and being good starts with being bad. But to be bad, you must first try and take action. So go ahead and make an effort, it’s the first step toward achieving your goals.
So the thing is to start and keep on practicing, experimenting, and giving yourself a chance to screw things up.
Create a vision and work towards that vision. Keep everything small and lean as you can until you find it working; from there, if you can identify the key values driving you to your vision, keep investing in those values.
Have faith and believe in yourself.
Believing in yourself and that you are a work in progress is a must.
You can achieve nothing without believing in yourself that you can reach your vision.
Be consistent in your practice.
Most importantly, don’t lose hope, as hope is what gives you the energy and motivation for days to come.
Be optimistic and see the opportunities.
If you struggle, keep on pushing to find a solution.
Everything is solvable. Some problems require you to think of irrational or illogical solutions, so be crazy with your ideas.
Most importantly, define your “Why’s” for doing what you are doing.
If you knew your “Why’s” you would have all the power to keep you going and overcome many challenges.
