I love writing — that’s a given. Everyone close enough to me already knows that. But honestly? I never felt confident enough to paint the town red and explore all the creative writing can unlock. I think it’s because I spent my whole life thinking I need to STUDY a specific topic to excel at it, but we all know that is not true, is it?
To be fair, once I started exploring my writing skills, the words flowed. Sure, I was never a writer, not really, but I had a way with words. Words were the outlet I never knew existed until a friend got me a tiny notebook for my birthday, which turned into a beautiful small book of stories. Also, I used to read all the time, so I believe I have solid vocab skills.
But as physics undergrad students, we honestly do not have the time to breathe sometimes. Running around campus trying to finish your lab report, experiments, research, then going back home to study is not for everyone. That kind of drove me to pursue a different course: Creative Writing. I simply needed a few hours of my week that were not entirely drenched by work and brain-wracking tasks.
