— What is your storyline in your head telling you? have you ever asked this question to yourself once in a lifetime? I know that it can sound difficult and I know that you probably identify yourself in your thoughts. Sometimes these thoughts are a wonderful place to live and you can feel so grateful about that. But other times these thoughts can turn into a nightmare.

Lately, for me, I found it very difficult to start a new article. My mind was telling me wrong stories about myself. I was telling myself I wouldn’t be able to write anything anymore. I wouldn’t be able to recollect any ideas anymore. I wouldn’t be able to tell stories to my friend and make them laugh once again. I wouldn’t be able to expose myself as I did before. I was not good enough anymore.

This is a common pattern of thoughts and we are usually wrong to identify ourselves with them. We let thoughts influence every aspect of our life, and we think it is okay with it.

But we are not our thoughts! We are more than this!

Sure they play an important role in us and this is why you should better manage them. If we let negative thoughts be present in our mind for even a short time, we will notice a tendency of clinging onto that and make our new normality.

I really recognize myself in this trait. In my 20’s I felt like I could not enjoy my life to the fullest. I was imagining in my head some worst-case scenario that I could not enjoy the present moment. Sometimes it still happens, but now I see it in a different way. With this, I am not saying I totally suppressed any bad part of my thinking mind but I feel more aware of the emotion that could arise from it. Because your thoughts can influence the emotional state of your being. — So be careful to be gentle with yourself and remember to be your own best friend.

Keep your thoughts positive because your thought become YOUR WORDS.
Keep your words positive because your words become YOUR BEHAVIOR
Keep your behavior positive because your behavior becomes YOUR HABITS
Keep your habits positive because your habits become YOUR VALUES
Keep your values positive because your values become YOUR DESTINY
