Let me cut to the chase right away: I’m not a new writer.

I’ve been publishing online since 2018. It’s been my full-time job since 2020.

I’ve helped thousands of writers grow their audience and income by writing on the internet.

I’ve built the majority of my audience by writing on Medium. And I still believe this is the most rewarding platform for new writers — especially if you don’t have a marketing and business background, are new to the online writing world, and just want to start publishing your work without overthinking.

But after six years of doing the exact same thing over and over again, it was time for me to expand to another platform.

And since I find Twitter and LinkedIn pretty disgusting, Substack was the most appealing alternative — especially after launching Notes, which is their short-form writing feed.
