Lottery tickets are unique in that they need little advertising. While everyone has dreams, not everyone has the means.

So advertisements highlight how lottery tickets can make those dreams come true. Sounds like an easy job for the lottery ticket companies’ marketing team.

I got introduced to the lottery system in Australia a few years back and got hooked in no time. It didn’t take much convincing 😃. I bought tickets whenever the jackpot exceeded $100 million.

I lost every single time. But the hope never died.

After wasting approx. 2,000 AUD over 3 years, I realised my money was going down the drain.

I made myself a promise not to play lotteries, but instead invest the capital in the stock market. Now when the jackpot goes beyond $100m, I transfer $50 to my trading account. And when the trading account goes to $200, I wait for the market to go down. When it does, I buy stocks or a fraction of a stock.

This strategy has kept my money alive. Not only alive, it’s growing. I am proud to say that my portfolio, as of today, is sitting at 39% profit.

It’s A Goodbye Forever, lotteries!

Disclaimer: I am not an expert and this is not a financial advice. This is based on my personal experience and on the stocks I have selected. Investing in the stock market is risky.
