Sugars. Sugars are everywhere around us.
We claim they are responsible for our energy.
We also claim they are responsible for the obesity and weight gain that a major chunk of the world population faces.

Well, so why not bring the trend of the “30-Day No Sugar Challenge back?”

You might say, "But, Krish, it is the festive season!”
And surely it is, but if you can beat the toughest, living it daily would be easier, wouldn’t it?

There are tons of people around the world who face issues with their bodies, such as obesity, high blood sugar levels, toothaches, cavities, acne, a fatty liver, and several cardiovascular diseases.
And it is not just the people who have sedentary jobs, but also the people who have a fitness-oriented lifestyle and work frequently.

Let’s be honest, everyone and I mean EVERYONE CRAVES SUGAR.
That may be a bar of chocolate, a pastry, or maybe even a tiny thing like candy.
And it’s not a problem; that’s how brains have been wired since the origin of humans.
Sugars are addictive to us.

Our ancestors used to eat sugar too, but they were way fitter and healthier than our generations, be it in terms of lifestyle or physical activity levels.
But the most important criterion to blame is the diet, because...

“Body isn’t made in the gym, but in the kitchen.”

And in recent decades, with the exponential rise of ready-to-eat foods and increasing consumption of fast foods, those kitchens aren’t much in our control.

Several food companies add sugars and sweet flavours to their foods to make them addictive, so we go again to buy their products, allowing them to make money at the cost of our health and lives.

Also, recently I started to put on weight, so I decided to go on a “30-Day No Sugar Challenge” myself and challenge anyone reading this story too.

So What Is the 30-Day No Sugar Challenge?

Well, it is just what it sounds like.
I challenge you to not consume any added artificial sugars or sweeteners for the next 30 days.
That means no white sugar, no brown sugar, no diet cokes, or even any other sweeteners.

You might think, “Can I still have sauces and sandwiches?"

Well, no, if you read the ingredients of your favourite sauces and treats, the majority of them have some or more sugar in them.

Well, you might ask, "Then what am I supposed to eat?”

So let me give you some key tips and pointers to help you ease the challenge.
Read on, fellow challengers!

Tips For The Challenge

First, a tip would be to understand that any form of natural sugar is permitted in the challenge.
That means you can have nuts, fruits, and vegetables, but not any processed or added sugar-containing food items.
So, try alternating or switching your favourite sweet treats with fruits and nuts, or even when those sugar cravings hit.

A good tip would be to have pre-made meals with you all the time, to eat whenever you feel like your cravings are being tempted by the cookies or chocolates your children, partner, or even your fellows are eating around you.
Having something on the go is way easier to stick to than making something at that moment when those cravings hit.

Third, don’t expect to see extraordinary effects in just 30 days.
No, you will still have the fat, and you will still have the pre-existing cavities, but I can guarantee you that you will feel better or positively different by the end of the challenge.

Fourth, and the last tip I have, is don’t give up.
Yes, you might lose control and relapse once or twice, but what matters is that you keep trying until you are free of the sugar trap.

From this moment onward, I will be on a “30-Day No Sugar Challenge,” and I will be posting another story exactly after 30 days, that is, on December 16, 2023, talking about my journey and my story about this challenge, about whether I succeed or not, and my key takeaways from it.

I also challenge every one of you reading this story, as little as there may be, to take up this challenge and react to this story with “I accept” if you wish to join me in this challenge.
Also, react and tell me if you finish or relapse.
This is a community for us all, and we wish to push one another to do our best.

Until next time,
Happy Reading.
